About Albion

Timber products made properly.

Albion Wood Products was founded by Nathan Russell, a joiner with more than nine years of experience working with timber and manufacturing outdoor products.

Why Albion exists

The idea is straightforward: make things properly.

Too many outdoor products are made around the lowest initial price, with little thought given to maintenance or repair. When they deteriorate, they are replaced.

Albion takes a different view. Timber products should be constructed from suitable materials, detailed for outdoor use and made so that worn or damaged components can be repaired or replaced where practical.

This is not only better for the customer over the life of the product. It also avoids wasting timber, fittings, labour and transport on unnecessary replacement.

For Albion, sustainability is a practical matter: use suitable timber from a known source, reduce avoidable waste, manufacture in Britain and make products that can be maintained rather than discarded.

Albion’s long-term ambition is to become a respected British manufacturer of gates, furniture, signage and landscape structures for estates, parks, public spaces, organisations, contractors and private clients throughout the UK.

Founder · Nathan Russell

More than nine years in joinery and timber manufacture.

Nathan began as a joiner manufacturing outdoor timber products and progressed to Joinery Manager. His responsibilities included a joinery team of around ten people, together with manufacture, quality, workloads and delivery.

That experience covers the practical details behind a reliable product: selecting appropriate timber, setting out and machining components accurately, using sound joints and fixings, planning production and checking the work before it leaves the workshop.

Albion was founded to apply that knowledge to a distinctly British manufacturing business with clear standards and direct responsibility for the work.

The photographs on this website identified as prior professional experience show product work from Nathan’s earlier career. They are not presented as Albion contracts or case studies.

Albion’s principles

What matters in the finished product.

01

British manufacture

Products are made in Britain. British-grown timber and British suppliers are preferred wherever practical.

02

Suitable materials

Timber, fixings and construction are specified for the product, its location and the conditions it will face.

03

Repair before replacement

Inspection, maintenance and replaceable components are considered from the beginning, not after a problem develops.

04

Clear information

Materials, origin, scope, programme and exclusions are set out plainly before work begins.
